Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Long-Term Substitute Teacher to join our team for the remainder of the school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching education, a strong understanding of child development, and the ability to create a positive and engaging classroom environment for young learners. As a substitute teacher, you will be responsible for implementing lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a classroom of kindergarten students, creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
- Implement and adapt lesson plans based on the curriculum provided, ensuring that educational activities are age-appropriate and promote development in all areas.
- Support the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child through individualized attention and group activities.
- Monitor students' progress and provide feedback to parents, caregivers, and school leadership.
- Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, and staff regarding student behavior, progress, and any concerns.
- Follow school policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive and supportive school community.
- Maintain a positive classroom culture that fosters respect, responsibility, and a love of learning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, or a related field (preferred).
- Valid teaching license (or eligibility for certification, as required by state).
- Ability to create and implement engaging lesson plans and activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
- Flexibility and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families.
Timeframe:
April 7th- through the end of the school year.
